James Gardner and Karen Adams

Today we had the opportunity to visit the USA house where our athletes and their families gather for food and fellowship. We met two men who were athletes many years ago. Herb Douglas (90 years old) was an Olympic medalist in broadjump in the 1948 games, and Ira Davis (75 years old) was a triathalon participant in the games from 1956-1964. We were honored to spend time talking to these two amazing men. When I asked if it would be possible for Karen and me to have our picture made with them, they were amazed that I had asked. They thanked us for "remembering them." As we prepared to leave, Ira hugged Karen tightly and whispered in her ear, "Thanks for praying for me! You keep doing that!" It would be really hard to say who was blessed more by this divine encounter today!
